Siksika (Blackfoot)

I'm blown away by these hand colored lantern slides at the Yale University's Beinecke Rare Book and Maunuscript site.

While only interpretations of the color of life within these villages, the decorations of the tepees and the firelight glow from within are both beautiful and profoundly sad...gone...gone...gone...
